How can a seventy-year-old fashion brand stay relevant in the 21st century?
Sometimes it’s with the aid of nostalgia. Just like Fendi, Dior is back on spot with the iconic Oblique canvas print. At the Dior fall/winter show creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri presented the come back of the iconic heritage motif honouring the legacy of the atelier in taking inspiration from its archives.
Dior fall/winter show 2018
The official and classic is designed way back in 1967, it was designed by the artistic director of the time, Marc Bohan. In 2000 the saddle bag was debuted with this classic print. And till this day, the bag is one of the most wanted bags of the century.
In the fall/winter collection is the hypnotic spin of the iconic print the biggest eye-catcher of the show. With patterns slightly larger than the original and the craftsmanship clearly visible. The Dior Book Tote, for example, takes 37 hours of embroidery to make, involving 1.5 million hand-sewn stitches.
We hope to see you soon in our stores and that we can help you find your
perfect Dior bag in this beautiful classic print.
With love, Team L' Étoile de Saint Honoré
