We are very happy to introduce you to ... Amanda. Beter known as 'Glitziegal' or 'The Queen of Pink'. She is super creative, in everything she does. We are always amazed by everything she creates. We had the honor to take a look at her closet and to ask her questions about vintage designer, our favorite subject. We could go on and on about everything vintage. Luckily, Amanda does too.

"I love classic! But with a pink twist"

What do you think of the concept of buying and selling vintage designer items?

I support pre-loved items. There is so much overproduction in the world, while items - especially quality designer bags - only get more beautiful with the time. A vintage Chanel bag from the 90s immediately tells you a story, isn't it wonderful to carry a piece of history with you?

What is the reason you buy vintage designer pieces?
I am a real vintage freak. I find the story that vintage pieces tell over the years very interesting. I love leather pieces that can last for years (or decades)! I also have a lot of vintage jackets. In the past there was much more love and attention for materials and details. Coats with beads and sequins from the 80s were made so much better back then, and these days' items are just not that well-made, unfortunately.

Do you ever buy a new designer item?
Now and then I buy new designer items. But if I can choose a team, I am 100% team vintage.

How did you get in touch with us?

I lived around the corner from one of your stores in Amsterdam. Every time I walked by I fell in love with the pink Chanel bags, so my interest was quickly piqued.

Who is your favorite designer ever?

Viktor & Rolf, Gianni and Donatella Versace, Moschino, Gucci, Christian Cowan and The Blonds.

What was your first designer bag ever?

My first bag ever was a Furla, of course in pink.

Which bags in your closet are you really proud of?

I am very happy with all my bags, but my dream bag has yet to come. To be continued...

What is the bag of your dreams?

A light pink vintage Chanel. Still waiting for this dream to come true. Anyone?

Where do you buy your vintage (designer) items?

At Etoile Luxury Vintage of course. But I also love Vestiaire Collective, Salon Heleen Hulsmann and Laura Dols. I always bought a lot of designer vintage items in New York, I have some great addresses in this city for hidden gems. In addition, I always go to a vintage market or vintage store in every city I visit.

Do you like classic models or more exclusivity when we talk about bags?

I love classic! But with a twist. I wouldn't buy a black Chanel bag, it will always be pink.

Which bag is really worth the investment?

A beautiful pink Chanel bag.

What is the best, cheapest or most unique vintage designer item you ever bought?

That is for sure my co-ord suit from Oscar de la Renta. This suit is from the 80s/90s. It is an embroidered fabric with hand-sewn flowers, big shoulders, golden buttons and a bodycon skirt. I really started screaming when I spotted this at one of the vintage shops in New York. It also fits perfectly and it was still as good as new. And this amazing gem was under the 100 dollars, very bizarre!

Have you ever resold a designer vintage item?

I can be very brief about this, my answer is no.

What would you advise other people to consider when buying a vintage designer bag?

I can advise people on this. Consider whether the bag fits your style completely. Ask yourself: "If I were a bag, would this be it?" That is the most important. Buy a bag that makes you happy and don't buy the bag because it is on trend. Don't be led by trends, but dream away with a bag that you will enjoy for a lifetime. Don't try to buy impulsively, think about it first. And if you are sure you are in love with the item, buy it when you really deserve it. When you have achieved a certain goal or something special. In this way, the bag gives you happy feelings the moment you look at it. Let you wear the bag with pride every time, with every outfit. Add a glass of bubbles to it, and say hi to your new dream bag!
