The clothing line that everyone wants
Oh my god, the Fendi X Skims collection is so amazing! Fendi and Skims have already collaborated twice.
After launching their first collection in October 2021, the labels have once again teamed up for their second and reportedly final drop, which took place in November 2021. Whether this will actually be the very last drop ever is unknown.
The second release featured the most coveted styles and items from the first launch, including: shape wear, printed intimates and printed bodysuits. The line featured close-fitting silhouettes and bound leather dresses in neutral tones, pink and black.
On November 9 was the first drop of Fendi X Skims. Within 24 hours the collection was largely sold out. It reportedly pulled in $1 million profit within the first minute of launch. Fendi x Skims also opened several pop-up boutiques around the world so customers could see the collection in person. There was a pop-up boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and reportedly there were very long lines outside when it opened.
The jointly designed clothing line is largely inspired by a 1979 Fendi collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld: twisted tube tops, bright colors and sleek sashes.
"The idea for the collaboration came about when my team and I were sitting around a table in the studio in Rome," Kim Jones, artistic director of the Fendi women's collection, said in a statement. "Suddenly, all the women became quiet and started looking at their phones. I didn't know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new Skims collection. Then I thought: let's do something together".
There are also accessories in a complementary palette: a selection of brightly colored FENDI icons appear alongside neutral hues. From Fendi Peekaboo and to the new Fendi Baguette Chain and the signature Fendi Sunshine Shopper in 3D FF logo.
"Both Fendi and Skims have a cultural strength that is very different from each other, but equally strong," adds Kim Kardashian West, founder of Skims. "We share a desire to push boundaries, think differently and challenge conventions, which is why we found so much common ground working together on this collection."
