History of the bag: Chanel Cambon Ligne

Cambon Linge, a bag that ownes his name to the history of the Chanel brand.

The Chanel Cambon Ligne was originally released in 2004. The signature future of this style is the big Chanel CC offset logo. The style owes its name to the history of the brand. Back in 1910, Gabrielle Chanel opened her first store on Rue Cambon in Paris, a street built after the French Revolution.

The design of the bag

The Chanel bag is made of soft calfskin leather and comes in many color and style variations. It comes in various styles:

Chanel Cambon Ligne Tote, Chanel Cambon Ligne Bowler Bag, Chanel Cambon Ligne Clutch Pochette, Chanel Cambon Ligne Reporter Bag and Chanel Cambon Ligne Clutch, to name a few.
The Chanel Cambon is made in Italy, not in France, and the lining of the bags differ depending on the model of the bag. The lining is most often a bright color like pink (our favorite) or orange.

Nowadays the larger Chanel Cambon Ligne bags are discontinued, but you can still find this style in wallets and Wallet On Chain (WOC) bags. As many 90's and 00's bags make their come-back, we wouldn't be surprised if the Cambon Ligne will revive soon. The big 2000 girls like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were often seen with a Chanel Cambon Ligne on their arms. Want to get ahead of the crowd and own a Chanel Cambon already?
