The prettiest bucket bag ever
The Louis Vuitton bucket bag, also known as the Louis Vuitton Noé, has its own story. Do you already have one or are you thinking about buying one? After knowing the history about the Louis Vuitton Noé bag, we think that you definitely want to have one!
The history of the Noé
The Noé of Louis Vuitton was originally made as a Louis Vuitton bag for men. The grandson of the French designer created the Noé in 1932 to carry his bottles of champagne without breaking them. He went to many parties and always took a bottle of champagne with him. The Louis Vuitton Noé has the perfect design and fit to carry five bottles: four bottles can fit right set up and one in the middle upside down. The closure ensures that the bottles won’t break. The Noé was the first bucket bag and paved out a path for many designers to introduce their own design of the bucket bag.

The name Noé
Also the name of the bag has a story. Noé is derived from the bible story of Noah. After Noah survived the flood with his wooden boat, he became a winemaker. Louis Vuitton used champagne to fit in his design instead, but wine fits too of course!
The different models
Today, the Noé can be found in the Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas, Damier Azur and different colors of Epi Leather. The Noé came in two sizes: Noé and Petit Noé. The main difference between these two is of course the size, but also the leather details on the bottom of the bag. In 2013, Louis Vuitton introduced the Noé BB, which is even smaller than the Petit Noé. This model comes in Monogram, Damier Azur and five colors of Epi Leather. In 2014, in the period Marc Jacobs was leaving Louis Vuitton, he wanted to make a final statement. He introduced the Neo Noé, which has a more sleek and elegant design.
